Sterling Grove Golf Course

A top 20 course near Phoenix & Scottsdale, AZ located in Surprise.

Under Bogey Sterling Grove Golf Course Review

A Nicklaus design near Phoenix and Scottsdale, Sterling Grove Golf Course and Country Club did not disappoint. It was about 45 minutes from Scottsdale, but well worth the trip.

This is suprisingly one of the most afforadable golf courses in the Phoenix metro area. I say suprisingly because it is really a top notch facility located in a gated community.

Once you arrive at the gate, you can see this is a community and not just a golf course. They have a nice bag drop area and everyone in the clubhouse was friendly. The locker rooms were state of the art and they did a good job making it feel modern and traditional at the same time.

The practice facility is nice and there is plenty of room to hit every club in your bag. They also have a large putting green between the range and the first tee. (someone was using their head on design)

The golf course itself is really fun and they have a wide variety of holes. You have some nice birdie oppurtunities and you can find yourself making a double if you get a little too aggressive. The greens here are quite large and very, very fast. They do roll absoultely perfect though, so no complaints from me.

Overall, this is a great course and you should try to get out there before they go fully private. I've been to plenty of clubs like this in the past and I can promise that is the direction this course is headed.

Heck, if you live near Surprise, AZ or are looking for a good golf community to join -- I would honestly give Sterling Grove a tour!
